I am old enough to remember a young Elvis Presley, and particularly my sister's excitement when he appeared on our rather small black and white television, festooned with "rabbit ears" (The TV, not Elvis). But I also remember, somewhat less fondly, an older, sweatier, less-compact Elvis. But when I listen to the songs, I try to erase the image from my mind.
As the song said "Those oldies but goodies remind me of you," I stop to consider what it is that reminds me of "Those oldies but goodies." Is it a sound, a feeling? Or maybe an image.
"Young Elvis"
"Old Elvis"
Speaking of images, the following two makes me think of Young Elvis and Old Elvis. I don't know why, but they do.
