I'm just going to come right out and say it. It's 20 months until the 2016 election and I already have Clinton fatigue to the point where I have to turn away from the TV when Bill or Hillary is on.
I don't believe that anyone can attack my loyalty to the Democratic Party as I have been involved in an ongoing manner since 1968. Maybe it's just me, but when it comes to Hillary I simply have no enthusiasm. My God, we have been following the Clinton's around for at least 23 years; and as often as not, it seems that the news involves a controversy.
There was a story in The New York Times yesterday entitled "Democrats see no choice but Hillary Clinton in 2016." That's a terrible place in which the party finds itself. The powers that be appear to have fixed the entire nominating process to help Hillary. Say what you want about the Republican clowns running for President. At least they have a choice on who to vote for.
As a proud liberal and member of the democratic wing of the Democratic Party; I feel I have no one to vote for and that a good part of the democratic process of government is being skipped here. The party leaders say it's her turn. Well she had a turn in 2008. What about Biden's turn or many other Democratic elected officials? When is their turn? Why can't it be her turn now and others turns now as well and let the better candidate win?
We need an option B. What if something happens to Hillary? What will the party do then? With her it always feels like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Apart from being way too conservative for my taste; I am concerned that she may not be as good a candidate as many think she will be. I don't know if she ever was.
Anyway I understand that I am probably just yelling into the wind here; but thanks for letting me vent and express my frustration.
