Per the Wikipedia:
Yitzhak Rabin ... was an Israeli politician, statesman and general. He was the fifth Prime Minister of Israel, serving two terms in office, 1974–77 and 1992 until his assassination in 1995.
[...]
For his role in the creation of the Oslo Accords, Rabin was awarded the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize, along with Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres.[45][46] The Accords greatly divided Israeli society, with some seeing Rabin as a hero for advancing the cause of peace and some seeing him as a traitor for giving away land they viewed as rightfully belonging to Israel.
[...]
On the evening of 4 November 1995 ..., Rabin was assassinated by Yigal Amir, a radical right-wing Orthodox Jew who opposed the signing of the Oslo Accords.
Per the Wikipedia:
Haredi conservatives and Likud party leaders believed that withdrawing from any "Jewish" land was heresy. Rallies, organized partially by Likud, became increasingly extreme in tone. Likud leader (and future Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu accused Rabin's government of being "removed from Jewish tradition ... and Jewish values." Netanyahu addressed protesters of the Oslo movement at rallies where posters portrayed Rabin in a Nazi SS uniform or being the target in the cross-hairs of a sniper.
Today, Netanyahu is expressing dissatisfaction with another deal being worked out by another head of state who has won a Nobel Peace Prize, and it's having an alarming effect.
Per this 3/31/15 Daily Beast article by Jay Michaelson:

Saturday night, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin said in a speech, “The president of the United States is lashing out at Israel just like Haman lashed out at the Jews. I’m not making a political statement—I’m making a Jewish statement.”
[...]
First, Rabbi Riskin is no fire-breathing fundamentalist. On the contrary, he is (or was) the kind of rabbi American Jews love.
[...]
When Riskin immigrated to Israel, he began anew, and enjoyed similar success, founding a network of schools and turning the settlement/suburb of Jerusalem Efrat into an expatriate haven.
[...]
But his statement Saturday was shocking. As recorded in the Book of Esther—and celebrated on the Purim holiday, which took place last month—Haman is a genocidal Jew-hater who plots to murder every Jew in the Persian Empire. He is an antecedent to Hitler, nothing less.
And there’s yet another nuance. Religious Jews know that Haman is a descendant of the tribe of Amalek, described in the Torah as Israel’s implacable enemy. Jews are commanded to completely annihilate them (Deut 25:19), leaving no survivors (Deut. 20:16), and destroying all of the tribe’s property as well (I Samuel 15:3). It is a commandment for genocide, and Haman/Obama is the target. [emphasis added]
