So now it is a bad thing to care about a lion killing when there are other things more important. If we were to make all of our decisions based on a scale about what is more important than lets just skip it all- it is so much easier to not care then to try to decide what is more important so we can forget the rest of our problems.
more below the squiggly
Let's start by forgetting the arts. Van Gogh is so overrated, as is beauty. We are taught beauty so let's unteach it. Sewers can be beautiful too, dilapidated buildings ( see Detroit) are all we need.
Sports is only an entertainment. Jogging is far cheaper.
Let's forgetting our national parks. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder. we don't NEED beauty in our lives ( see above). So frivolous
Deforestation? let's just call it that needless beauty thing (see above). and as for all that air they give us, at some point humans will find a way to recycle it ( just like paper) all by ourselves, thank you. Trees might have been a resource to our ancestors, but not us modern people
Bad water. We can always clean it.
Lack of water for billions. There is a coming war for that. Hey it was the first war, humans waged, only fitting it should be our last.
Contaminated food- plants are not that important not worth our time. We can wash them all.
No worry about the loss of bees or that mite they now have bees are insects-lowest of lows. That pollination thing is a petty worry. It's a science thing and I am not a scientist.
Then lets forget the loss of our birds ( and bats)- about one third are gone- but hey they just fly what's so big about that and eat insects ( see above)...hmm.
Now about farm animals living in cages so small they cant move- who cares as long as it is on our table.
Which brings us to animal abuse- whatever doesn't kill them makes them stronger right? And if it kills them, well they are only here to serve us.
Then we have the rights of people. Forget breaking this category into different parts- there is enough hate to go around. So taken as a group the answer is obvious- no ONE matters. Not OUR problem. We are a collective and overall I'd say we CAN"T complain, we have survived for thousands of years living just like this- we only care about ourselves.
Because if we did care about more then one thing, we would realize that we need to complain, worry, care, and be outraged by a heck of a lot.
And i worry, care, and am outraged by a lot these days. I wish I could just care and be outraged by just one important thing, but I can't. I share this world with plants, insects, animals, and other people.
This isn't about tolerance either.
I don't tolerate those other things, animals, and people- I care about them.
We need to care about them.
