The Hillary vs Bernie fight is an interesting fight inside the party.. One the progressives lose traditionally.... Barack only changed this by stripping the AA collation from Hillary...
I love Bernie's positions and moving of the Overton window.. Regardless of who you like this community needs to focus big picture... A failure of the last two center left presidents has been not building the party. 2008 was a great and historic election but the
accendendent coalition failed to plan for the 2010 midterms and the redistricting fight that killed us as a party/coalition. Because regardless of your affiliation to the party if your a radical, liberal, progressive. You get more of your vision with the democratic party. So 2016 is setting up 2020 and redistricting.... So states and congress are as important if not more... Congress has stopped needed change from happening... The cooling house of the senate and the conservative majority of the supreme court have blocked and tried to lessen the impact of the emerging majority coalition...
We should be looking at state houses.. Congressional seats and not deluding ourselfs that the Bernie vs Hillary primary is just a vanity quest without congressional support and a senate with 60 votes....
I'm of the view that Hillary is more pragmatic / safe .... But you give her majorities in congress and you redistrict in the states you can have generational power... I'm willing to bet she is more progressive than you think... But regardless if Bernie wins but gets nothing done because congress is a coequal branch and we have not looked at this big picture then they will paint more than him a failure but his ideas... They have tried to do this with our current leader who real faults have to do with not focusing on the party as just as important to being the change you want to see......
Besides the monstrosity of modern conservatism is doing horrid damage in the states... If this isn't the focus what should be?
