I was reading my Twitter feed the other day and saw that one of my followers had been in a Twitter fight with George Zimmerman. It's no secret that he hasn't kept much of a low profile following his acquittal for stalking and murdering Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager.
But Flaming social media with racist rants is a really bad idea. Especially for a guy who should be serving a life sentence for murder.
It started when he responded to someone who tweeted him for 'It's slap-an-idiot Wednesday':
...and quickly went downhill from there.
Wills Robinson from the UK's The Daily Mail chronicled Zimmerman's epic meltdown:
Zimmerman also called President Obama an 'ignorant baboon' for statements after the Virginia shooting discussing the high number of deaths from gun violence in America.
On Wednesday, he posted another string of insulting messages just hours after the shooting on Wednesday: 'Pansy Fester (sic) lee Flanagan, too much of a daisy to deal w/racism. Murders 2 whites. Hate crime, 100%. Racist Obama says nothing condeming (sic).'
Amidst all the outrage over Zimmerman's racist tweets, his misogynistic bragging about his history of domestic abuse of women went unnoticed:
I'm not sure if he's talking about using his hand to assault women or to shoot unarmed children, since half the message is 'unavailable':
If you haven't been following Zimmerman's crime spree since the Trayvon Martin murder trial:
- He was detained in September 2013 on suspicion of domestic abuse and threatening his estranged wife and her father with a gun.
- He was arrested again in November 2013 for aggravated assault with a weapon against his girlfriend, a felony, in addition to misdemeanor battery-domestic violence and criminal mischief.
- He was arrested on January 9, 2015 and charged with aggravated assault with a weapon for throwing a wine bottle at his ex-girlfriend.
Does this remind you of any other famously acquitted murderer?
That's right. George Zimmerman's post-trial behavior shares a lot in common O.J. Simpson. He also bragged about getting away with murder, started acting like a fool, and was also involved in a violent road rage incident after being acquitted.
Now he's doing a 33 year sentence for armed robbery.
Hopefully O.J. will still be there, looking for a new cellmate, when your time is finally up. Tick, tock, George. Tick, tock.
So, how long do you think it will take Zimmerman to follow in O.J.'s Bruno Magli's?
