There are two possible outcomes to the Democratic Party contest happening now. In one version, Bernie Sanders triumphs over the Party regulars. In another, Hillary Clinton becomes our Presidential nominee.
However, although this simple fact is indisputable, it’s the immediate next phase that should concern everyone here. One of the two candidates has been endorsed and supported by nearly every member of the Democratic Party. The other has not. One has goodwill built over years of working with the Party infrastructure. The other, led by campaign chairs Jeff Weaver and Tad Devine, has conducted a scorched-earth policy, going so far as to institute and maintain a lawsuit against the Democratic Party itself!
In an election cycle where Republican opposition has done its darnedest to give every American reason not to support them, the Sanders insurgency represents the greatest threat to the Obama legacy and the Democratic selection of future Supreme Court justices.
