When the establishment types start to rustle out of their easy chairs and make an effort to attack you that can only mean two things. #1 They are starting to take you seriously because they think you actually might have a chance to win! and #2 You are doing something right, you are speaking truth to power.
It’s an article by the editorial board and it really pulls no punches www.washingtonpost.com/... ( if they had only been this diligent in the run up to the Iraq war, but more on that later from Bernie! The article is entitled, “Bernie Sanders fiction-filled campaign. Just a snippet,
Mr. Sanders tale starts with the bad guys: Wall St. and corporate money. The existence of large banks and lax campaign finance laws explains why working Americans are not thriving, he says and why the progressive agenda has not advanced. Here is a reality check : Wall St. has already undergone a round of reform, significantly reducing the risks big banks pose to the financial system. The evolution and structure of the world economy, not mere corporate deck stacking, explained many of the big economic challenges the country still faces. And even with radical campaign finance reform, many Americans and their representatives would still oppose the Sanders agenda.
Wow, I usually follow current affairs on a daily basis, i must have missed all those significant reforms that made the banking industry so much safer! In fact, i thought the too big to fail banks were even bigger than they were before! This editorial is laughable and Bernie Sanders responded in kind :
People are telling us, whether it’s the Washington Post editorial board, or anybody else, our ideas are too ambitious-----can’t happen. Too bold, really ? Well, here is something that is really bold. In the last 30 years, there has been a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class and working families of this country. The middle class has become poorer and trillions of dollars have been transferred to the top tenth of one percent...Where was the Washington Post to express concern that the middle class was shrinking?
Don’t you just love Bernie, i mean what other politician has talked like that in the last four decades? I guess that’s why the establishment is stirring, and why the populace is rising to Bernie’s clarion call. But Bernie saved his best response for last during a Bloomberg politics breakfast :
….check out where all the geniuses on the editorial board were during the invasion of Iraq.
I guess they are feeling the Bern now!
