It took a while to get up to speed, but early voting in Franklin County, Ohio (Columbus) is on pace to shatter 2012’s figures. 70,000 county residents have voted in person so far, with many more expected through Monday. There are about 843,000 registered voters in Franklin County, and 40-45 percent of those who vote are expected to vote early, either in person or by absentee ballot.
Over 571,000 votes were cast in Franklin County in the 2012 presidential election. Barack Obama carried the county by just over 130,000 votes and won the state by over 166,000.
