An Ipsos/Reuters poll released today showed Bernie Sanders gaining on Clinton among Democrats ONLY (excluding independents). This is his highest performance in this poll and particularly in a poll that excludes independents. He has consistently gained in the poll since about a month ago.
Hillary Clinton — 49% (54% Jan. 20)
Bernie Sanders — 44% (35% Jan. 20)
Poll from January 20th
There is a significant problem in the large difference between the national polls showing a tightening race within about 6% and the individual state polls, mostly showing Clinton leading and often leading big. It is unclear why there is such a large difference between the national polls and the individual state polls.
