Hello again Kossacks! We are getting close to our fundraising goal for Kossack Scottie Thomaston, formerly known by the handle indiemcemopants. As I let you know in my previous post on Sunday, Scottie was recently hospitalized after developing pressure sores that led to sepsis.
I created a fundraiser on YouCaring.com and would love any help you can give. Even if it is just a share, a rec and a tip! It all helps.
You can read more about his story and current situation here...

For those who don’t know him, Scottie has been a fierce warrior for our community on a host of issues from disability rights to LGBT rights. Scottie currently writes for Courage Campaign under their Equality on Trial header.
Scottie Thomaston, Lead Writer: Scottie is an activist and writer based in south Alabama. In addition to being a Contributor at Courage Campaign Institute's EqualityOnTrial.com, he has been a longtime contributor to DailyKos, Fire Dog Lake, Critical Mass Progress, and The Huffington Post's 'Gay Voices.' As a lifelong activist, he has worked to help to end the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy" and to end proposed statewide amendments and legislation such as the recently withdrawn anti-transgender bill proposed in Tennessee's General Assembly. He's written on topics ranging from LGBT rights to disability rights and criminal justice.
Despite being paralyzed from the waist down, Scottie leads a very independent life. Asking for help is difficult for him, but I insisted we try. His family, friends and I want to ensure he receives the care he needs as well as the necessary equipment (bed, wheelchair, etc.,) that will help protect his health and prevent further pressure sores.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for listening and for any help you can give.

NOTE: I wrote this on Primary Tuesday and thought it would be better to schedule this post Wed Mar 16th since things will likely be a bit busy here. ALSO, I’ll be on the road during the day so I’m unable to reply to and recommend your comments. Given that I’m hopeful confident ya’ll can lift this to the ‘Recommended List’.
