Some people are probably going to hate me for saying this, but when it came to getting things done to get people elected, the Tea Party did a few things right, nuttiness aside. If you want the short version, we need to go local, down to even the smallest seat. In some ways, that is beginning.
Sanders got the message out there, and there are many folks down ballot running on his message and sticking to it. If we want more people who will stick to that message, we need to look at going after local precinct committees. They do have a good deal of sway when it comes to local politics especially, but it doesn’t end there.
We need people to run for School Boards, City Councils, everywhere there’s an open seat day after day, month after month, year after year. No one said it was going to be easy, but whether Sanders wins or not, this is what we need to do, especially if Clinton wins and we have to force her left. Otherwise, it’s all just hot air.
I’ll admit, I’d love to run for office myself, but my only accomplishment is graduating from college with 2 degrees in spite of disabilities with financial aid. And nobody seems to take that seriously.
See you around,
Homer
