So, apparently, Debbie Wasserman Schultz cut a deal with Hawaii’s state Dem chair to hold the state’s caucus in March, on a Saturday afternoon, during Easter week-end instead of Super Tuesday. In return, the state was supposed to get 10 extra delegates.
Suppress the vote much?
This is recounted by a chair of the state Dem party: www.talkleft.com/…
Lots of people here rightfully complain that caucuses are undemocratic, and DWS clearly attempted to suppress the vote to make it more so.
And Bernie still won…
Oh, and apparently Hawaii only got 3 extra delegates out of the deal. So there’s that too. Trust DWS at your own risk.
UPDATE: h/t to Catte Nappe in the comments.

Another account of the events that contradicts the other commenter, Donald from Hawaii.
UPDATE 2: People have pointed out that the above are simply links to comments on a blog(s). True, but I did confirm that the commentor who wrote as Donald from Hawaii is actually a long time democratic Chair and states that he was at the SCC meeting where this went down.
Based on what Hawaii Dem and Bart Dame wrote it’s unclear if they were actually at the SCC vote, or if they are simply stating their opinion about what they think happened. I’m not implying one thing or the other, simply that it’s not clear from what they wrote and I haven’t been able to confirm it either way. Maybe they can comment on this diary! LOL
