I am writing this before the censorship begins in the hopes that it will be seen. I’m going to be 65 years old next week and have been involved in Democratic politics since Gene McCarthy in 1968. As of this year, I no longer consider myself a Democrat. I did not leave the party, it left me. The establishment is clearly more interested in corporate values than they are in core values. How else to explain the action by Kos? How else do you explain the President and Vice President endorsing a lifelong Republican over Alan Grayson? How can you explain the establishment rigging the system for Clinton?
Kos says he wants us all to shut up and endorse Clinton. I simply cannot and will not do that. I don’t even know who she is. After a quarter century in national politics, I have no idea what she stands for. It pretty much depends on the day and who she is speaking too. The next day and place it will be different. She is trying to be all things to all people; basically standing for nothing.
Troubling questions that make me nervous about her judgement. Why did she vote in favor of Iraq? Why won’t she release the transcripts? What is she hiding? She knew she was running; so why did she take all the speaking fees? She had to know it would be an issue. She knew she was running, so why did she have the private e mail server? She had to know it would be an issue. What is her position on TPP? More importantly, what will it be if she becomes President? Those are just the tip of the ice berg of troubling questions about her.
I grew up in a time when the prominent Republicans of that time (Rockefeller, Javits, Scranton, Milliken, Romney) were all to the left of where Clinton is. Bernie would have been a mainstream Democrat. How has the Democratic Party become what it is today? A corporate party. Who speaks for those with no voice? I can tell you that Bernie is one of the few who speaks for me.
I will not be silenced and muzzled while seeking social justice. If not here; then it will be somewhere else. Vote Bernie! Peace.
