The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Marco Rubio in the primaries and refused to endorse anyone on the Democratic side saying “Agree or disagree with Marco Rubio on various issues, he offers Illinois voters the framework of a presidency that realistically could exist. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have not met this fundamental economic test. “
So I was curious and visited Little Marco’s website. Here are some of the things the Tribune apparently finds “realistic” (taken directly from Rubio’s webpage)—
- Cut taxes for small businesses to 25%;
- Let businesses immediately expense new investments;
- Permanently repeal the death tax.
- Repeal ObamaCare in full, including the $1 trillion of tax hikes on workers and employers, in particular the job-destroying employer mandate and obstacles to hiring full-time workers;
- Support consumer-centered reforms that lower costs and provide flexibility to businesses.
- Establish a National Regulatory Budget to hold unelected regulators accountable;
- Let Congress vote up or down on regulations that have a major impact on the economy;
- Expose the true costs of regulations on the American economy and small businesses;
- Dramatically increase small business input in the regulatory process.
- Immediately approve construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline;
- Fight cap-and-trade, a carbon tax, and new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency that act as a national energy tax.
- Remove union-imposed obstacles to workers receiving pay increases and bonuses.
So basically , gut unions (who have apparently been running roughshod over corporations and holding down wages), Destroy any chance of reguating polluters or unethical corporate practices, cut taxes on corporations and repeal the estate tax which will encourage wealth accumulation even more than we see it today and of course, repeal Obamacare which has saved Americans millions of dollars.
And this is more realistic than Sanders’ or Clinton’s plans? Embarrassing.
