You’re probably wondering why I’ve adopted such an attitude with my situation being what it is. It’s simple, really: Because no matter how many applications or resumes I send out, I’ll never be hired by anyone. Sure, sounds like a negative way of looking at things, but it’s just the truth.
Despite some really great sounding articles some may share about employers suddenly seeing potential in disabled employees, not a single employer is actually interested in hiring us. Sure, they might keep us on until the grants run out, but then we’re gone, never to be heard from again.
It gets worse, you see: My mother in law has once again brought up the subject of retraining in Cybersecurity, to which I put my foot down immediately because retraining won’t solve the problem of dealing with constant joblessness.
Employers want someone with the experience of a middle manager for an entry level position or they want to hire from within. This happens just as much in the private sector as in the public sector and no one seems to give a single flying fuck about the issue.
So if you’re wondering why I gave up, I’ll just keep it simple: I don’t have the energy or the motivation to deal with the constant bullshit, rejection or the people that go along with both. Employers can take their ‘offers’ and shove them up their asses for all I care.
And if anyone plans on coming to this page and telling me I should move or just change my attitude or any other ignorant dick comments, please feel free to do the same. I won’t stand for it anymore, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Besides, why the hell should I bother doing anything if society and family members constantly tell me I’m useless anyway?
See you around,
Homer
