Continuing on from a diary I wrote last night about humoring people when it comes to the search for employment, a commenter was wondering why it is we can’t get the press to shed light on living with disabilities and how difficult it actually is. A documentary on the subject would certainly be a novel idea, but there are issues that would be difficult to resolve when it comes to the production process. Equipment, software, etc.
The other thing I would find difficult is getting interviews with people from every walk of life possible. Politicians, business owners, even people with disabilities themselves, not all of them would be willing to speak on the issue. There are many situations and many disabilities to cover, but it’s well past time to bring awareness to a group of people who are often invisible in a society where we’re told it’s all about keeping people rich, getting rich or other similar sociopathic attitudes.
I admit I’d like to do this myself because I don’t know who else could be trusted to produce such a project. Plus I don’t trust that some big shot film maker would do the subject proper justice. I do have some knowledge with videography and production but I don’t really have the means. I’m not really into things like Patreon or GoFundMe either with the way people just exploit those for their own personal benefit.
If I am going to do this, I will need help. For now, I just want ideas: who I should interview or talk to, what issues I should try to cover, that sort of thing. Any advice would be appreciated.
See you around,
Homer
