It’s been an awesome week of Hillary Clinton! Even though there are only two contests for the next few weeks, “safe spaces” for her supporters are growing, with not only daily News & Views, but also with afternoon Hillary Hangout open threads and #ImWithHer Live Blog evening open threads. You guys are a tough act to follow!
First, here are some diaries from the Hillary Writers Circle, #HillaryClinton, and related hashtags that may not have been rounded up earlier:
floridageorge: Edging Toward an Earthquake — Democracy Corps poll: Hillary beats Trump by 13%, GOP at historic low
DanielCoyne: She Will Not Be Your President
amitxjoshi: Why I support Hillary: a rant
ClintonCastro16: #HillaryMadMeASouthernRepublican
Beware of the numerous “funny!” diaries that claim Hillary Clinton has been indicted for a crime.
In addition, here’s an interesting diary about Barney Frank’s recent interview, where he takes to task voters who are dissatisfied with Obama (and by extension Clinton):
CatM: Barney Frank: You don’t like that terrible system? You built that.
In other news, Hillary will be in Eau Claire, Wisconsin today for a campaign event with Senator Tammy Baldwin. This will be a strange, empty period of time where we have only Wisconsin and Wyoming to break the cycle of media stupid before the New York primary. If Bernie Sanders wins both states, as expected based on demographics and the latest polls, expect to hear numerous reiterations of “OMG, he might actually win the nomination, he has momentum” from the bored media. They said it about South Carolina after Bernie won New Hampshire, and it wasn’t true. Doubtful it will be true of New York. Even if Bernie were to win New York, numerous excellent diaries (and Nate Silver) have demonstrated why his path remains arduous even so.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has shifted toward more aggressively combatting the Sanders’ campaign’s accusations against it. On the one hand, I find it refreshing and well overdue. On the other hand, I hate that the campaign had to take this approach, that the Sanders campaign couldn’t have subtly shifted toward making a purely positive case. At the very least, I hope it prompts the media to do some factual digging and not simply take claims at face value. And in the end, I hope both sides can make peace.
Meanwhile, here are some of the ways Hillary Clinton supporters on the Internet are showing their support:
If you haven’t done so already, here is the link for making calls to Wisconsin and other upcoming states. And please, if you’re not tapped out:
