Just last week, ActBlue topped 3 million people who have saved their credit card information with them. That is more than double the 1.3 million who had saved such information before the Sanders campaign began.
That is what you call a legacy.
That is what you call power.
That is what you call the seeds of a political revolution.
That is what Bernie Democrats achieved.
On top of that Bernie backers made this party better. How? One way is by Phone banking and canvassing-
- To date, Bernie Sanders backers have made more than 14,000 calls to US voters. Now that may not seem like a lot of calls but what if I told that was the total amount calls made from the group calling themselves Australians for Bernie
- For those of you who have never phone banked or haven’t phone banked with the new technology. Here is why the record breaking number of phone calls made by Bernie’s campaign is so important in two words DATA MINING. The software that we used to phone bank allows for the volunteers to determine several key points about the voters we called. Most importantly whether or not the phone number was still current. Many of the numbers that I called were the wrong number and thus I updated the database to reflect that. This means that we will not waste resources trying to contact that # or address in the future.
- I’m trying to get the estimated number of calls made but just to give you an idea it is in the million/s. One person alone user jbabramowotz made 65,874 calls and was such a hero he inspired jpro611 to make 18,199 of his own. Here are the leader boards are these the kind of people you want in your party?
Thank you Bernie for fighting.
Thank you Bernie for being the ONLY sitting elected official that had the courage to take on the entire establishment including 400+ Super delegates including many of your friends.
Thank you for all the years you resisted the establishment so that you had the moral authority to challenge it.
Thank you for continuing this movement beyond this nomination process and continuing this political revolution
Thank you for raising money for Bernie Democrats running for the House and giving Nancy a chance to become Speaker of the House again!
Thank you for targeting Trump in the past several weeks which has help open Hillary’s lead over him to +2 in the RCP average. (do not tell me that this was Hillary’s doing, we just heard yesterday how the “real Hillary” was finally out of the gates because she just took off the gloves and went at Trump. That was 2 days ago and no polling reflects any of that. Bernie has been laying into him for weeks)
Thank you for making me a Democrat and thank you for making me a better citizen.
Brand New Congress
UPDATED 2:38 EST with a brilliant quote from Hillary circa 1969:
I am very glad that Miss Adams made it clear that what I am speaking for today is all of us—the 400 of us—and I find myself in a familiar position, that of reacting, something that our generation has been doing for quite a while now. We’re not in the positions yet of leadership and power, but we do have that indispensable element of criticizing and constructive protest and I find myself reacting just briefly to some of the things that Senator Brooke said. This has to be quick because I do have a little speech to give.
Part of the problem with just empathy with professed goals is that empathy doesn’t do us anything. We’ve had lots of empathy; we’ve had lots of sympathy, but we feel that for too long our leaders have viewed politics as the art of the possible. And the challenge now is to practice politics as the art of making what appears to be impossible possible. — Hillary Rodam
