Good evening …
Welcome to another Baja Arizona Kos Primary Open Thread. I know, I know, there’s a Primary Open Thread on the Front Page but they don’t usually get down to the bottom of the ballot for State Legislative and County and local races. Besides, it’s a tradition. We’ve been doing this for every election since 2010. (Can you believe we had 245 comments that year ?) So click through if you live in Arizona and want to get primary election results or if you live somewhere else and are interested in the crazy politics of our crazy state.
“Content”
I usually like to put some sort of content in
these Open Threads to kinda’ get the discussion going but I don’t have a lot tonight because I put everything I had saved up in Sunday’s edition. I can make a few predictions though. I’ll go out on a limb and predict that both Ann Kirkpatrick and Raúl Grijalva will win their primaries. There’s an article at the Arizona Daily Star, ☛ HERE, that claims that registration is up in the state for both major parties. The increase in party registration comes at the expense of voters registered as independent, or No Party Preference. I don’t think this will have any effect on the primaries since NPPers can vote in any primary they wish just by asking for that party’s ballot. There’s one from Mother Jones, ☛ HERE, that says that Arizona voter rolls have been hacked and that the FBI suspects that the Russians did it. I don’t know if this had anything to do with the fiasco in Maricopa County during the Presidential Preference Election or not. I’m more inclined to blame the Maricopa County Recorder or the Secretary of State. Both are Republicans and Republicans are not noted for being competent at their jobs. We’ll find out later on, for example, how badly our new SoS has broken the official website that we ordinarily use to track election results. So that’s where we’re at, returns should start coming in at around 8, may all your candidates win.
