If Hillary Clinton had stood before the largest television viewing audience, in probably the history of presidential debates, guzzling down water as though she were wandering through a vast desert of impending doom, the entire Right-Wing media would be inventing all sorts of terminal conditions which require hydration this very day.
For weeks the Right has speculated about Hillary’s health in order to disqualify her, and the boastfully confident Donald Trump has made it clear that he alone stood as a tower of strength and stamina among other mere presidential candidates of the past and present.
Nevertheless, whether due to a physical condition, thirst, or extreme nervousness due to the mere fact that he found himself stuck in a debate bout with Hillary Clinton and being pummeled to within an inch of his lying, boorish, egotistical life, it was Trump and not Clinton who appeared rattled and in the midst of an existential crisis last night.
Many among us will recall Trump’s jeering of his fellow Republican Marco Rubio due to Rubio’s need of hydration during another high profiled media moment:
But CNN learned that the Trump campaign sent a "care package" to Rubio's Washington campaign office that contained a 24-bottle case of "Trump Ice Natural Spring Water," with Trump's face on it, two "Make America Great Again" towels and bumper stickers and a note reading, "Since you're always sweating, we thought you could use some water. Enjoy!"
I imagine Trump’s need for water, water, please, a little water! Was certainly noticed by Rubio as well as others:
There was also a lot of sniffling coming from Donald Trump. Now, maybe he has a cold, or allergies. It happens. But what all that sniffling sounded like was Donald Trump huffing and puffing and angry enough to blow the whole debate stage down. The excessive water drinking didn’t help his case, either.
Snip
He’s allowed to be thirsty. It’s probably hot up there and there are tens of millions of people watching and he mostly has no idea what he’s talking about. I’d need a drink of water, too. For optics purposes, though, chugging water while a split screen showed a smiling Clinton discussing policy specifics didn’t come across as the most presidential moment for the G.O.P. nominee. Just ask Marco Rubio if bad water-gulping moments stick.
Yup, I’m sure Rubio noticed Trump last night and, while noticing Hillary’s performance, sympathized with his fellow Republican and also felt the need for water, water, water.
Go Hillary!
