When seven-year-old Chloe Bridgewater saw photos of the cool stuff like candy, go karts, and bean bags at Google offices, she knew she had to work there. Chloe didn’t exactly have a resume and cover letter to send to the company, so she hand wrote an adorable inquiry to Google with the greeting “Dear google boss”
Communication with Google often feels like a speaking to a black hole. In this case, both Andy and Chloe were pleasantly surprised to get a response — from Google CEO Sundar Pichai himself!
In a LinkedIn post with a photo of Pichai’s response, Andy writes:
After seeing images of Google offices with their bean bags, go karts and slides my 7 year old daughter decided to write to Google to see if they would give her a job. She lost a great deal of confidence after being knocked down by a car a couple of years ago. However, to say she is delighted after receiving this letter signed by Sundar Pichai himself is an understatement. She is now even more eager to do well at school and work for Google. Can't thank such a busy person enough to take time out to make a little girl's dream become one step closer, although not sure she's fully aware that it'll take more than riding go karts and sleeping in pods to make it with Google!
It’s wonderful that Pichai took time out of his busy day to encourage a young girl to pursue her dreams of working at a tech company — if the whole Olympics and chocolate factory plans don’t work out. :)
