So I’ve been watching MSNBC’s coverage of the protest marches, and I noticed that one of the chyrons MSNBC has been repeatedly running seems strangely but amusingly accurate.
I don’t have a screen shot or GIF (don’t even know how to make one, in all honesty), but I copied the text to share here. The chyron describes yesterday’s inauguration as follows:
Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday, taking command of a nation facing an unpredictable era under his assertive but untested leadership.
That is an, uhhmm, interesting identification of the biggest challenge the United States is facing. It’s not terrorism, or tense foreign relations, or economic weakness. No, Trump is taking command of a nation whose most significant challenge is that Trump is taking command.
Sounds about right.
