I never quite understood Trump's alliance with Steve Bannon. Granted, Trump wouldn't be in the White House had it not been for Bannon. When Trump came on the scene, Steve Bannon provided Trump with Breitbart, an excellent medium for millions of uneducated and impressionable voters. At the start of the campaign, Trump was only taken seriously by republicans because of the enormous Breitbart following he had corralled. Trump needed Bannon to project his political ideology. After a year in office though, Bannon is just directing Trump to destroy the republican party.
“I’m a Leninist,” Bannon proudly proclaimed.
Shocked, I asked him what he meant.
“Lenin,” he answered, “wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.” Bannon was employing Lenin’s strategy for Tea Party populist goals. He included in that group the Republican and Democratic Parties, as well as the traditional conservative press. TheDailyBeast
You'd think Republican President Trump would chose someone as his chief adviser that doesn't hate republicans. Are his republican voters that stupid to think Bannon would want Trump to succeed? If Bannon is serious about his populism beliefs, he will only succeed by destroying the republican party.
If you are republican and you voted someone into the White House bent on destroying the republican party, you were played big time. To make things even worse for republicans, Breitbart editor called Bannon the "de facto leader of the republican party".
You have someone leading a political party, that ultimately wants to destroy it.
Now that Trump's presidency has lasted one year, the republican party is in shambles. That is what happens when it is led by someone aiming to destroy it. Trump endorsed a pedophile, who just lost. All of Trump's nominations, like choosing his housekeeper to head the New York region of HUD or choosing a person who just graduated law school to be a lifetime judge or giving a grade four government position to a truck driver he met at the Cracker Barrel, are all destructive. If you went undercover as president of a country that you wanted to destroy, you would mimic all of Trump's decisions.
We can't leave out Robert Mercer from this article. Trump's number one donor also devotes his life to tearing down the republican party. Patrick Caddell, a former Democratic political operative said that Mercer “is a libertarian—he despises the Republican establishment,” and added, “He thinks that the leaders are corrupt crooks, and that they’ve ruined the country.”
Robert Mercer was the only billionaire contributor to be named one of the “top 10 most influential billionaires in politics,” alongside Rupert Murdoch, George Soros and the Koch brothers by The Washington Post in 2015. PoliticalHaze
Don't forget Russia. Let's be fair to Trump and not assume that he colluded with Russia. If he did though, and Putin contributed to Trump's meteoric rise, Putin is another person who would prefer to see America fail than succeed. All of Trump's disastrous presidential nominations sort of make sense, if you consider his chief adviser, his top donor, and his best international ally all want the republican party to fail.
Much to Trump's pleasure, the republicans are headed towards a bloodbath in the 2018 midterm elections. Despite the booming economy, all political analysts predict a democratic uprising next election. Many republicans even, will find it hard to vote for a party that endorses pedophiles. On top of that, republicans finally took control of the government. However, they were still unable to repeal Obamacare and stifle federal spending. After the string of failures the last year, a vote for the elephant is a waste.
