Tonight.
'We" the minority of GOP voters have allowed our fear, our hate, our misogamy, our evangelical religion, our xenophobia, our racism, our Randian belief in corporate gods, our guns, our greed to rewrite the foundational contract of this country.
We are now...
"One nation under corporate profit, with taxes and economic injustice for all but the wealthy, divisible, with unlimited corporate funding, gerrymandering, voter fraud, skewed courts, and a restricted internet to guarantee GOP power forever."
Tonight I cry for my old age - with reduced or no Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security - my contributions looted and given to the wealthy. Note the average senior lives on $31,500 a year and half of those live on Social Security alone.
I cry for my children and newborn niece who will not be able to afford college, even if they win full scholarships because they will be paying taxes on the $100k tuition.
I cry for my wife who survived breast cancer and should she face it again will likely be economically excluded from healthcare with her pre-existing condition through unlimited higher premiums and the undermining of Obamacare.
I cry for family members and friends with disabilities who are now facing economic disenfranchisement with cuts to Medicaid and public education special needs funding.
I cry for my daughter and all women who face further economic injustice in wage loss, job discrimination and abuse by pu$$y grabbing, child molesting, elected officials.
I cry for my community, Main Street a dying corpse hollowed out by Wall Street.
I cry for my planet as we have rewarded those who seek only profit in her environmental destruction.
For tonight we have codified and unleashed a generation of economic injustice.
I weep.
