The Columbus Dispatch has a local humor column by Mr. Joe Blundo. Today he came up with several “Children’s books rewritten for the era of Trump”. His column is here, and is worth a read. A sample that I hope doesn’t exceed Fair Use:
Wizard of Ostracism
For the second time, a tornado blows Dorothy to the Land of Oz, where she learns that the Munchkins have imposed a temporary travel ban on immigrants and refugees.
"Your gingham dress and pigtails frighten us," the Munchkin mayor explains. "You'll have to catch the next tornado home."
"But you were such a welcoming people last time," Dorothy replies. "All that singing and dancing. What happened?"
"It's a dangerous world out there," the mayor says. "We have to protect our magical land."
"I think the magic's gone, dude," Dorothy says.
Please take 3 minutes to read the column. You may get a chuckle, but the underlying message is not the least bit funny.
