Life is hard when dealing with President Clusterf**k and the Banana Republicans but some of these folks were not always wing nut crazy. They were for the most part decent human beings of a more conservative bent and I always considered myself fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Which translates into ‘Don’t piss away the tax dollars on stupid, and don’t pinch the pennies for the important stuff like educating children so they have some kind of half-assed chance in life. One thing that has always guided me through the years is the memory of the first time I saw pictures of the Holocaust. I could not fathom how a nation of people could allow such an obscenity as Hitler exist and pretend they did not know what was happening. Some if not most HAD to know. We cannot become those people. I was heartened to see that the German nation recognizes the similarities in Trumpkins and his self made GOD like image presented to the world. Bravo and bear with us along with Austrailia and the myriad nations he has now terrified with his rank incompetence. Deep in my heart I do believe we shall overcome some day.
Below is what I sent to a formerly sane republican in our seriously red state — I am hoping some small sliver of sanity and decency remains.
Dear Senator,
I live in one of the best school districts in our state, & hardly anyone can get into the premier ‘charter’ school in the area unless they 'know someone' . This results in tax payer funded private schools. There is no comparison between the care that is given to this school compared to the other county schools. The tax funded 'public' school primarily benefits those living in the nearby luxury developments with their million $ plus homes. I know, I am in one of them.
If you ever want more people who achieve sucess, you MUST begin with education and a nurturing environment as well as secure and healty food FOR ALL CHILDREN. I have voted for you many times but it is now time to get real, grow a pair, and reject the completely unqualified DeVos and the orange monster in our White House. Anything less is just being a 'Good German'. Something I swore off when I was 10 years old and which the Germans swore off to this day — God Bless Them.
