Ever get high to make money?
Want to make money by getting stoned and testing fun apps that people will use when they’re stoned?
Wait, don’t send me to an early rock-crusher’s grave. This isn’t spam, & I’m not offering you the job. You probably wouldn’t qualify anyways. You’d take it too seriously.
Yup, it’s an actual job though. I know because my neighbor is getting high at the moment across the bay with a startup firm. Meanwhile, I have to toil sober for my non-green shekels. Not that I am envious...or anything.
Postscript: Well, that didn’t last long. After only doing a few days of testing, that job has come to an end. Instead of the two or three weeks my friend thought she would be earning extra income from, it turned out to be just a couple of days.
A few of her fellow testers were imbued with more ambition than the rest and ate up all the testable hours. Instead of just doing it for a few hours each day like my neighbor, they treated it like a marathon and blitzed through days and nights living and sleeping in the live/workspace to rack up hours. She saw them doing it at the time and thought it was weird they were so dedicated.
Now she understands why they did it.
Cincinnati Kos
Rachel Colyer, Daily Kos Senior Campaign Director, and David Akadjian, Daily Kos Contributing Editor, are planning a meet-up Saturday, March 4 from 3:30-5:00 PM at MOTR PUB, 1345 Main Street in Cincinnati. A short program by Rachel and David and including Josh Nelson from CREDO.
Make the Political Social
Objective: Bring folks together to get to know each other and make friends to support each other during the fight.
Ideally, we will have folks identify their area of interest for activism--writing, in-person events, social media--and break into small groups for those folks to get to know each other by talking about their interests and possibly making friends within those groups. For example, make a friend to go to events with, make friends on FB and twitter to share political items, support each others writing.
Then, we could have some more social time to cross-pollinate those groups.
Rachel would love to see some lists develop out of this where event activists can connect with social media folks and writers, so that everyone can help support local efforts.
This could create a powerful Cincinnati information force, and get folks together online and off, to pressure politicians locally.
Their next meeting date after this one is lining up now. RSVP at this event page.
