I have not seen this in a diary, yet it sounds like a pretty big deal to me. I will remove this diary if it has already been reported.
The NY Times reports that Trump asked Comey to end the Flynn investigation, and that Comey wrote a memo about the meeting:
WASHINGTON — President Trump asked the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to shut down the federal investigation into Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, in an Oval Office meeting in February, according to a memo that Mr. Comey wrote shortly after the meeting.
“I hope you can let this go,” the president told Mr. Comey, according to the memo.
The existence of Mr. Trump’s request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the Justice Department and F.B.I. investigation into links between Mr. Trump’s associates and Russia.
This was the day after Flynn resigned. The article explains that Comey frequently wrote summary memos of certain meetings, phone calls or discussions. The NYTimes does not have the actual memo, but someone read it to the author. The White House denies the events in the memo, of course.
Why the dog? Because I grow despondent when every freaking diary has a big giant picture of Trump’s head, whether the photo adds anything to the text or not. I’d rather look at pooties and woozles that have nothing to do with the text.
