The answer hasn’t been clear to me in the absence of news coverage.
Is a person who takes home over $3 million in 2016 in base pay and bonus, more than 55x the median income of the residents of the city in which he lives, while his company underperforms relative to its competitors, eligible to save more than $165,000 per year in federal income tax?
Can we envision a world in which a company claims it cannot create profitable products in an industry in which not only was his company the only choice for some customers but in which those customers were legally required to purchase his product or pay a penalty is somehow to be believed that an alternative system that will cover fewer people will somehow produce better outcomes?
We’ll see.
