I’ve quoted some choice comments from conservatives on the legislative failure of GOP-care. These are from the various threads on the conservative Reddit group (/r/Conservative). Some of these comments are from after failure of Repeal-Replace, but before the failure of Full-Repeal. Going forward, we will have to be vocal, active, and vigilant, which can become exhausting sometimes. But today is a victory. Savor it. Enjoy it. Relax and recharge before the next battle.
On a side note: I like to check in with conservative media periodically. Most of the time, it drives me crazy, but it’s worthwhile to know what topics they are focused on. I got into a political discussion about Trump-Russia the other day, and this knowledge came in handy. The Reddit link above is the least annoying one-stop shop I’ve found that allows me to efficiently keep tabs on what conservative Republicans are thinking.
Here we go. Enjoy!
Do it Republicans. This is your chance. You have everything lined up for you, all you need to do is your job. Literally no downside to this.
If they don't pull the trigger on even this, the party has failed me and I'm changing my affiliation to independent/unaffiliated.
The annoying thing is that this healthcare issue is holding up a lot of other issues, ones that should be easy to pass (SHARE Act, HPA, tax reform).
I'm hoping before the recess they pass some of those, to make them look like they did something
If Republicans botch this, they're fucked in 2018. Pass something that will help the American people, repeal Obamacare, and get to work on tax reform IMMEDIATELY.
Republicans need strong legislative wins if they're going to keep their jobs past 2018.
They have to vote for this bill. They voted for the same exact bill in 2015, and it passed, but Obama vetoed it. If they don't vote for it now they'll lose their jobs, a Tea Party resurgence will happen and the ones who don't support it will get primaried.
As much as it pains me to say it, the reality is that we're going to end up with single payer at some point. This repeal is not going to get passed. McConnell is a weasel. I don't trust him at all.
Trump fucked McConnell which in turn fucked all of you. Going for healthcare right away was a stupid legislative agenda. McConnell should've tested the waters of this congress with something easier to see how hard securing votes would be. The thing I would take away from this is to remove the President from setting the legislative agenda and follow Ryan. He got his bill passed.
Primary every last one of them and excise them from the party.
if the GOP had won a bigger majority we probably wouldn't have needed these "moderates" to vote for the bill.
The biggest issue here is that these clowns voted to repeal the ACA when they knew Obama wouldn't sign it. Now they are backing down. What a slap in the face to the voters.
Even solo repeal is bullshit. I just heard that clown McConnel talking about repeal with a two year delay. So here's what would happen guaranteed. Nothing for two years. Then within 3 months of the deadline the lying liberal media pulls out their campaign that they repeal has to be extended. Same bullshit as with shutting down the government. "The horrible republicans are going to allow obamacare to expire." Then the extensions start. All bullshit. So seek no hope in simple outright repeal the same spineless wastrels will never act.
