Here is a very interesting story from time:
time.com/…
I know it is a week old, but i have not seen it posted here, and this paragraph is rather chilling:
The cyberteam began worrying that Russia might try to compromise a poll worker and gain access to touchscreen machines before the election. But doing that in a way that could alter the outcome of the election was very hard. First, the attackers would have to know which districts could affect the outcome. Then they'd have to change just enough votes to ensure victory without switching so many that it would draw attention.
“very hard”… uh, excuse me for asking, what is so hard about that? I am pretty damned sure that the republican apparatus has always been in the business of measuring which counties and how many votes need to be flipped for any given election. Roger Stone probably has this kind info at the top of his files… and whoever draws the gerrymandered precinct maps for the GOP can probably tell you this off the top of their heads. Specifically. And in great detail. That is their business, to know this, and they are damned good at their business. This information is in the can!
And they need to Kompromat a poll worker...what is so hard about that? Actually, they probably don’t have to compromise any poll worker, they probably have some willing, eager Trump cult poll workers on speed dial, who would gladly hack some machines in the service of the Glorious Leader. I know a couple of guys…
After the Brooks Brothers Riot of 2000, does anyone really think that the GOP is ethically above this kind of fuckery? If you do think they are better than this, i must say, you are adorable! I want to give you a hug! You give me so much hope...
I am quite cynical. You remember who organized the Brooks Brothers Riot don’t you? Roger Stone. He would never do anything like this though, right?
