Late this evening, the New York Times reports that President Trump’s lead defense attorney dealing with the Russia issue, John Dowd, fowarded an email today...
[...] to more than two dozen recipients, including a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security.
This forwarded email contained the following statement:
"You cannot be against General Lee and be for General Washington," the email reads, "there literally is no difference between the two men."
We heard this exact argument from Trump himself yesterday. Of course, Washington fought to establish the United States as a nation. Lee fought against the United States, trying to break the country apart over slavery.
When the New York Times contacted Dowd about his having sent this email, he replied,
"You're sticking your nose in my personal email?" Mr. Dowd told the times in a brief telephone interview. "People send me things. I forward them." He then hung up.
Yeah.
