The New York Times has a map showing calls for rescues from people in East Texas. Many details are included about how those trapped in the flood waters needed healthcare. It instantly occurred to me that many just focused on surviving right now are going to need a new source of health insurance, especially if they have lost their jobs and homes. We need to put together some simple instructions on how to sign up in Texas. Sure Texas did take the expansion, but there are still national registries for folks with low income. Even if they don't qualify for this year, next year will look bleak for many if they can't work. I know there are folks here like Brainwrap who can help with this issue, but there may be Texas specific knowledge needed too. People who wouldn't do this because of politics before may consider it as part of government help in their dire situation. We have in internet and Facebook, we can all help get the word out.
thanks in advance for help with this issue. I know this is a short diary, but given the devastation, thousands could be helped with this knowledge and information.
