Trump appointed Carl Higbie to serve as spokesman for the agency that handles AmeriCorps among other efforts.
Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and staunch supporter of President Trump known for his combative cable news appearances, has been tapped to join the administration as chief of external affairs for the Corporation for National and Community Service. [...]
"My time in the media supporting the president has been an uphill battle on many networks but it has been my honor to have been aboard the Trump train since day one," Higbie said in an email to The Hill.
"It is unfortunate that the left wing media would rather see America fail than President Trump succeed," he continues.

Higbie is a former Navy Seal from Greenwich, CT. During the campaign, Higbie served as spokesperson for the super-pac supporting Trump. He is notorious for once suggesting the administration should create a national registry and set up internment camps for Muslims:
A prominent supporter of Donald J. Trump drew concern and condemnation from advocates for Muslims’ rights on Wednesday after he cited World War II-era Japanese-American internment camps as a “precedent” for an immigrant registry suggested by a member of the president-elect’s transition team. [...]
He was referring to a suggestion by Kris Kobach, a member of Mr. Trump’s transition team, that the new administration could reinstate a national registry for immigrants from countries where terrorist groups were active. [...]
“We’ve done it based on race, we’ve done it based on religion, we’ve done it based on region,” Mr. Higbie said. “We’ve done it with Iran back — back a while ago. We did it during World War II with Japanese.” — www.nytimes.com/...
Navy SEALs appear to be a bastion of support for Trump. A team of SEALs was disciplined for flying a Trump flag from a military vehicle a year ago.
Then, earlier today, CNN’s KFILE published an article recounting several extremely racist and derogatory things Higbie said on various radio shows :
Speaking on 'Sound of Freedom' in December 2013, Higbie, while recounting a time he placed an advertisement to give away free firewood, said "the black race" had "lax" morals. He added that black women think "breeding is a form of government employment.” [...]
"Go back to your Muslim shithole and go crap in your hands and bang little boys on Thursday nights," Higbie said. "I just don't like Muslim people. People always rip me a new one for that. Carl, you're racist, you can't, you're sexist. I'm like Jesus Christ. I just don't like Muslim people because their ideology sucks.” [...]
Higbie derided members of the military suffering from severe PTSD as having "a weak mind" and said 75% of those afflicted were either lying or milking it for federal money. [...]
In June 2013 on Sound of Freedom, Higbie called California Sen. Dianne Feinstein a "bitch" whose head he would like to smack into House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's. — www.cnn.com/…
Of undocumented immigrants, Higbie, on another episode of “Sound of Freedom” in 2013, said that Americans with guns should be able to shoot undocumented immigrants who attempted to cross into the United States at the border.
“What’s so wrong with wanting to put up a fence and saying, ‘Hey, everybody with a gun, if you want to go shoot people coming across our border illegally, you can do it fo’ free,’ ”

Higbie is also on record as saying he hates gay people. On radio, he claimed Obama forged his birth certificate and was born involved Kenya. Higbie also said he believed Americans who receive any sort of public assistance should not be able to vote in the next election. He believed this would result in “a massive slide to the right in this country”.
Hours after CNN asked him to comment on these radio shows, Higbie resigned.
