This is minor and random but lots of political oddities junkies out in DailyKos might be interested.
On Thursday’s MLB showing of the Colorado/Milwaukee NLDS game, I saw an ad in Palm Springs CA for Jared Polis, Dem candidate for Gov. Today, viewing the Northwestern/Michigan State football game, I have seen multiple ads for Repub candidates for Gov, Sen and House in Michigan.
Cable ads are a combination of national buys (the majority) and some local buys (where of course campaign spots would be bought).
So this raises the question — are some campaigns making national buys on shows that have intense local viewing as the only way to be seen (much time is reserved months ahead)? Or is my cable service (Spectrum) screwing up and showing ads in the wrong states?
Has anyone else seen this happen?
