InfoWars is perilously close to a permanent YouTube ban after peddling yet another debunked conspiracy theory. The site, helmed by the always-irate Alex Jones, received its second strike on Tuesday after publishing a video that accused Parkland, Florida shooting survivor David Hogg of being a crisis actor. — www.newsweek.com/...
Info Wars has long trafficked in the worst conspiracy theories. Jones has repeatedly claimed the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax or a “false flag” attack. Jones promoted the pizzagate conspiracies and has claimed 9/11, Columbine and several other bombings/mass-shootings were hoaxes. His followers have harassed and abused the parents of children murdered in Newtown. They are doing the same to Parkland victims and survivors.
He’s basically a vile human being who should not have a prominent platform.
So it’s deeply satisfying that a 17 year old has Alex Jones begging for mercy.
Of course, Alex should know better than getting into a Twitter fight with a teenager:
Meanwhile, back in the real world, kids and allies are organizing to shut down the pro-massacre NRA and their enablers in the GOP. There are now almost 1,000 school walkouts scheduled for April 20.
Investigators believe the Parkland attacker had planned to take up a vantage point and shoot at fleeing children (copying the Las Vegas gunman). If he’d succeeded, the death toll would have been far higher. Investigators believe his gun may have jammed, leading him to flee.
As a reminder, Republicans definitely know how to jump to action. They just don’t believe murdered schoolchildren are worth speaking up for:
PS. Jones claims that YouTube reinstated the second video and re-enabled his ability to post videos. He has several channels and seems to be milking theories about being “persecuted”. These claims are on his website, and I’m not linking to that trash.
