Come one, come all — welcome to Sunday night at the Kos Katalogue — What’s New? diary series. Vendors, please feel free to post your stuff — prospective customers are looking for you! On tap this week: We have a new vendor to welcome — and a poll to help me choose another name for this series. Read on below the quote block for more info & thoughts on the subjects!
The Kos Katalogue What’s New diary series posts every Sunday evening at 9 pm Eastern / 8 pm Central / 7 pm Mountain / 6 pm Pacific time. This is a Kos Katalogue group diary that also supports the Community Links, which are posted in the comments. The full list of vendor links can be found in the Kos Katalogue mothership diary by Avilyn.
It’s a fun way to bring Kos Katalogue sellers & shoppers together and get to know each other. Sellers with Katalogue listings can use the comments below to post their items, product, service, venture, or other news about their businesses. Customers and shoppers are encouraged to use the comments to ask questions, make suggestions, and so on. In between, we can hang out, share our news and views … and feel free to post pics of the stuff you’ve bought, sold, or have for sale!
Welcome to our newest vendor!
After sharing her online business in last week’s diary, mamajo2k is now listed in the Fine Arts section of Kos Katalogue. She runs The Heritage Photo Shoppe, “Where Genealogy & Your Old Family Photos Meet Digital Scrapbooking.” Check them out!
What’s in a (new) name?
Over the past four weeks that I’ve been writing this series, support from general readers and prospective customers has been great! What we more of, however, is participation by vendors. I realize the series is recent so it’s below most people’s radar — and, at present there’s no good way to contact all the Katalogue vendors to let them know about it. So I’ve been going with the “attraction rather than promotion” model, and it’s taking it’s time …
But — I’ve also realized, based on a few convos with vendors, that the “What’s New” part of the name may be part of the problem! It was not intended this way, but it might convey that only your “truly new” stuff is welcome here. Well, no — that’s not it at all! And, dear vendors, keep in mind that just because an item isn’t new to you, doesn’t mean it’s not new to us! So, please share your stuff — prospective customers are waiting!
I also want a title change to convey that this is somewhat of an open thread, and we can hang out and chit chat on a lot of topics. It’s about getting to know each other, which can (as a welcome byproduct) stimulate ideas for new products and services, and go from there …
So — please to vote in the poll at the end of this diary! Yes, everyone — not just vendors. The list includes name suggestions I’ve brainstormed, and there’s the ubiquitous “Other” so you can suggest more ideas in the comments!
What’s Kos Katalogue? and Where to Find It
Kos Katalogue is an organized way to showcase the vast pool of small-business talent we have among our fellow Kossacks. From artisans and crafters, to fine artists, to writers and book publishers, to web developers, consultants, and counselors — and many more — Kos Katalogue lists an amazing array of goods and services. Every purchase supports a Kossack — many of our sellers gain all or a significant portion of their livelihood from these sales. When you shop at Kos Katalogue, you support indie and small businesses, help a Kossack pay the bills and put food on the table, all while bypassing the corporate noise. And, you get to stay out of those crowded malls!
Note: Kos Katalogue is a listing directory, not a selling platform. Links within the sellers’ descriptions will take you to the individual seller’s website or product pages, where you can get more information and make purchases.
How do I join Kos Katalogue?
You can join the Katalogue listings as a seller by sending a Kosmail with your request to Avilyn, who is the Keeper of the updated mothership diary. Be sure to include a brief description of your products/services, and a link to your selling site.
To join the Kos Katalogue group, send a request to Blog Admins Avilyn or jan4insight and mention this diary.
One last thing …
My top chief spokescat LuvLee has a ‘portant message:
Yes, folks — LuvLee believes in shameless self-promotion, and that’s what this diary series is about. Vendors, start your engines! :)
