THE ARIZONA SENATE MOVES TO CHANGE THE RULES FOR REPLACING MEMBERS WHO RESIGN OR DIE
Because of having to deal with already defending one Arizona Senate seat this November due to the retirement of Jeff Flake, Arizona Republicans looked at the distinct possibility of the stepping down or passing of Senator John McCain as a result of his worsening brain cancer, forcing them to defend BOTH Senate seats, and as usual decided their best action is to subvert the democratic process and lie, cheat, and/or steal to hold onto power for as long as possible — by, of course, changing the rules.
U.S. Senate vacancies are filled by a governor's appointee, with the seat on the next general election ballot. The secretary of state has interpreted that to mean that if McCain's seat is vacated by May 31, it would be on the August primary and November general election ballot. The new proposal changes that to 150 days before the primary, or March 31 of this year. That takes McCain's seat out of play.
Because what better way to honor freedom, Democracy, and the legacy of a long-standing Republican statesman by being craven fascists?
