If you've been around these parts for a while, odds are you've seen MBNYC. A member since 2006, he's never been one to be quiet about who he is, or about standing up against bigotry of all kinds. Speaking to other kossacks, he is described as “fiercely anti-racist”, a defender of women, outspoken against antisemitism, and more. All in all a good guy who you’re likely to meet if you attend an NYC meetup. :-)
About a month ago, Michael opened up about the struggles in his life due to addiction. He'd hit bottom, and is working his way back out. This is where we can help. Michael lost a lot of stuff while he was putting his life back together. He has housing that he'll be moving into this week, but he needs a Mac laptop to be able to work (he does graphic design), a bed, some clothes, and some cash to pay movers to save what they can from his prior apartment to the new digs.
We've set a goal of $5,000, and we have an offer of $400 total in matching funds to start off. If anyone has a spare Mac they would be willing to give Michael, that would drop the total amount we need to raise. Here’s the direct link to his PayPal. Tips, Recs, Comments, Shares, & Republishes all help; and remember, the first $400 in donations is going to be matched! Thanks so much for reading.
