Longtime broadcaster Ed Schultz has died, multiple sources say.
Sources say that Schultz died of natural causes. He was 64.
Schultz started his broadcast career in TV and radio in Fargo in the early 1980s, including time as sports director at WDAY-TV in Fargo. He went on to host a show at MSNBC and most recently worked for Russia Today.
RIP Ed
Edit/update. I didn’t editorialize in this diary just passed along the breaking news I commented down below and will copy it here: “I Lost track of him after MSNBC. Was angry they let him go. I knew he went to RT, but didn’t follow his content there. Figured he had to make a living, and wouldn’t deny anyone that. Hadn’t realized he sorta went off the rails. Just learned about that here in the diary.” Regardless, he fought the good fight for a long time and was a fierce defender of unions. I wish his family and friends peace and comfort during this miserable time.
