Long story short in my last 2-3 year of college in the late 80s I gained almost 75 pounds. I lost all of it in a summer where there is no other way to say it I starved myself (stupid I know, but another time). Maybe only a few steps up from a flat out hunger strike. Never really got my appetite back.
From 1991 until like 2016 I was 155-160. I am a 5'4 male if I stand up on my "tippy toes.”
More than a year ago as I got near 50 (just turned 50) I figured I needed to get to like 128-132. Everything I've read told me as you get older and older it is harder to take off weight.
I did this two ways. Diet and walking.
I worked myself up to walking 20,000 steps a day and cut out maybe 75% of meat (still eat a shit load of eggs). I eat a lot of high-end rices and lentils. Lot of raw veggies and fruit.
March this year I got off those 25-30 or so pounds after almost 1.5 years of efforts.
But today I weighted 116.5. That freaked me out!
I know this is for several reasons. My house fire I talk about too much here where my contractor broke my sewer line. I don't have acres of land, but carried tons and tons of soil. Using a hoe and rake for hours to put down grass seed. Still at about 20,000 steps a day. Tear up and putting in a new outdoor shed. Redoing my pretty large deck. Plus it is summer and hot and I don't have much of a desire to eat when it is hot.
Using my Ninja blender and Muscle Milk and forcing myself to drink shakes. Not helping.
My question is do folks have suggestions? I feel like 116 isn't enough weight.
I've looked at GNC and know there are things now like Protein shakes that are single meals. Will try that. But lost like 8 pounds this week or so and that worries me.
