Piers Morgan thought he could best Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter, which is a little like a chewed legume challenging Usain Bolt to a footrace.
Needless to say, it didn’t go well. For him.
After AOC mused on Twitter that maybe — just maybe — our country should leave diplomacy to diplomats instead of ceding the responsibility to handbag designers, professional “celebrity” Piers Morgan weighed in, presumably to remind people that he still exists and will assiduously waste skin until his ugly, bleached bones gleam for an aeon in the searing California sun.
Uh … no.
Yes, AOC was a bartender not that long ago. She’s also a college graduate and … *checks notes* … a duly elected congresswoman.
Piers Morgan, meanwhile, is a disgraced journalist and erstwhile America’s Got Talent judge. AOC shapes the national conversation and moves us incrementally closer to universal health care, whereas Piers is basically a poor man’s Rip Taylor.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, Piers, you lose.
Also, AOC makes a great point. We need more “regular” people in Congress, not fewer. Our pr*sident is so out of touch he thinks health insurance costs $12 a year. Maybe save some of your fusty British snark for that guy.
