After a slow start this morning, the Dow Jones was up a solid 50 points at 10:55 a.m. Then, Trump tweeted that he “hereby orders” American companies to seek “alternative” markets to China.
By the end of the day, the Dow had plunged 670 points from its intraday high, making it the one of the worst single-day losses in market history.
But not the worst. That record belongs to Donald Trump with a drop of nearly 1200 points in a single day. Trump also holds the record for the second biggest drop (1030 points). And the third worst day (830 points). And the fourth worst (800). And the fifth (799).
In fact, 7 of the 10 worst days in stock market history have occurred during the Trump presidency. The other three? George W.
