This is just an experiment, loosely inspired by some comments I’ve read here over the last few weeks.
So here’s the idea: Say something genuinely positive about a candidate (or more than one) who currently wouldn’t get your vote if you had to vote today.
By genuinely positive, I mean something about that candidate’s policy or background that you truly believe is a good thing. For example, “I like Candidate X’s stance on Y (because . . .)” or “I’m glad Candidate P voted for/against Q (because . . .).”
What I don’t want to see is “damning with faint praise” (“I like the fact that candidate R isn’t an ax murderer” or “Well, Candidate Z is better than Tr*mp”) or insincere praise/attacks (“I’m glad Candidate P has revealed he/she is a tool of N.”).
Since I don’t want to prejudice things, I won’t post any examples in the body of this diary, but I’ll give an example in the comments.
