AOC, Tlaib, Ilhan, Pressley etc. are being very public and very vocal over their criticism of Pelosi, Dem leadership and their absolute cowardice.
Ryan Grim wrote an article for WaPo where he surmised Dem cowardice goes back to Reagan.

“A vote for Mitch McConnell’s border bill is a vote to keep kids in cages and terrorize immigrant communities,” said Rep. Ilhan Omar (Minn.). “If you see the Senate bill as an option, then you don’t believe in basic human rights,” declared Rep. Rashida Tlaib (Mich.). “Hell no. That’s an abdication of power,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.).
“The greatest threat to mankind is the cowardice of the Democratic Party,” Trent told me.
Frustration with the refusal to stand up for principle is boiling over among younger Democrats. On issue after issue — impeachment, Medicare-for-all, a $15 minimum wage, free public college, a Green New Deal — the answer from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and other Democratic leaders is consistent: Now is not the time; the country isn’t ready. Push too fast or too far, and there’ll be a backlash.
“The older members really cling to the idea that things are going to go ‘back to normal’ ” after Trump, Ocasio-Cortez told me. “For us, it’s never been normal, and before that the bipartisanship was s—ty anyway and gave us the War on Drugs, DOMA” —

Of course, Pelosi, being completely tone deaf to her base blasted these insults out in a Maureen Dowd NYT article. {Just for the record, Pelosi’s criticisms below are far more then what she directed at Trump after he was accused of rape by E. Jean Carroll}

Speaker Pelosi says @AOC, @IlhanMN, @AyannaPressley and @RashidaTlaib “have their public whatever and their Twitter world. But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
“If the left doesn’t think I’m left enough, so be it,” she told me.
Huff Post has been all over Pelosi as well.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has issued a surprisingly scathing attack on the cadre of progressive freshmen women who have established high profiles among the chamber’s Democrats, dismissing them as having a “public whatever” but lacking significant political backing.
The Intercept is in on the controversy.

Now, she tells Dowd: “I respect the case she has but I don’t see any role for Congress.”
Is it not a source of shame for rank-and-file Democrats, whether on the left or in the “center,” that Trump lawyers are citing Pelosi’s refusal to impeach him as their defense in court? As their justification for ignoring congressional subpoenas?
It almost defies belief that the leader of a political party will literally do everything in her power to completely demoralize it’s voters. It defies credulity. Impeachment now has 81% support among Dems and 40% among Indies and Pelosi will fight tooth and nail not to do it. Trump has free reign now, there’s nothing stopping him. The latest poll showed 48% of the country wants impeachment AND REMOVAL now. This is without hearings. Pelosi and feckless Dem leadership will not defend our democracy. Pelosi’s arrogance is appalling.
And...as for Pelosi’s insult that these four have no following……….….for Pelosi’s information………….AOC, Pressley, Tlaib, and Ilhan have more Twitter followers than Pelosi and the 35 Blue Dogs in the House combined. We need to support these new, inspirational members and it’s time to clear out the old guard.
