Whether you love me or hate me you have to vote for me.
— Donald Trump
Donald Trump told a rally this morning that if he didn’t win the election everybody’s 401k fund would collapse and the American economy would be in ruins.
Wow.
I’m sure Kelly Conway and the other apologists will be in front of cameras saying he was “just joking.”
But come on.
Donald Trump is one of the most petty people in the world. He has no sense of humor. His jokes only become jokes when his handlers try to explain them away.
If we manage to vote him out next November, he will have another 10 weeks in the White House to wreck anything he can reach.
Trump is a man who lives to wreak revenge. He left the Paris climate agreement because it was joined by President Obama. He tore up the Iranian nuclear agreement for the same reason. He has rescinded a mountain of regulations he doesn’t even understand because they were from the Obama era.
What happens when the “people I need to get revenge against” list expands to the entire voting public? Even his base who didn’t work hard enough to give him the election.
What could he do in 10 weeks? A couple of days ago, the stock market plunged because he was talking about more tariffs in his disastrous trade war. How much could he get it to go down if he was doing it on purpose? How about if he started a war? How much damage could he do if he sent Vladimir Putin a list of U.S. intelligence assets in Russia (if he hasn’t already)?
I can’t even imagine the worst things he could do. The only limitation is his own incompetence.
Hurry up, Rep. Nadler. There’s no time to waste.
We’ve got to get him out of the White House before we have to send in U.S. marshals to drag him out on Jan. 20, 2021.
