The last few weeks feel like a cliffhanger moment. I see in the news that more people are starting to accept that we need action on climate change. At the same time one disaster after another strikes our planet. Political and environmental turmoil piling up.
I like to envision the reasoning behind other people’s actions, and this is what I see in regard to a, dare I call it an upsurge, in public opinion ‘’Hey wait a minute, this may affect me.’’ Whatever it takes to get them there is ok with me, for now.
Since my video links are so light on content, and even lighter on facts, I added this poem to fill it in. As a dyslexic construction worker taking up writing at 50 has been a exciting challenge. Maybe it’s some kind of coping mechanism, I don’t know.
The Times in Between
The spectacle of nature revealed to the senses
As seasons blend
A connection bound up where none can effect
In the well worn trail of the mind
Where the gray dawn revealed, where the gray fox crossed
A wisp in the fog
And the goose wings shone bright
In the golden light that morning
In the hushed fall evening, wood ducks land at my feet
As I wade their fishy bower
The squirrel’s jungle gym was blown down in a storm
But left fledglings at its feet
When the summer heat abates or a late winter sun warms my skin
These are special times
The times in between
This video goes into how science is helping to hit a moving target when it comes to climate change.
Humankind has created a huge problem and in this case has found and implemented a solution.
