They are lovely independent creatures. They have personalities and desires all their own. And we do our darned best to interpret what they want.
As the human companion for these two seniors (ages 16 & 17), I remain undecided for the primary. However, their preferences have become clear to me, based on their individual personalities.
Mr. Wiley — the black and white cat — he’s for Elizabeth Warren, although his heart was with Andrew Yang as well. The reasons? He was 100% for Obama, but he also loves women. He was a Hillary supporter in 2016. Mr. Wiley loves technology (resting on the computer keyboards) and a nice pile of business documents, like tax returns (another good place to chill).
Bobo — my furry, part Maine Coon — well, he’s been a pro-Bernie dude since 2016. He considered Biden for a very short time, but settled back with Saunders. They share New England roots. Years ago, Bobo was a passionate John Kerry supporter not only because of the New England connection but also from the Navy connection. (Maine Coons are thought to be among the oldest nonNative Americans, tracing their origins to the early New England sailors and settlers). And Bobo was a rescue from a non-fancy but functional New York City public shelter (calling Larry David…. ).
So, to lighten up from the heat of the primary contest, and completely putting aside your own candidate, whom would your pootie support?
