Just got a nice text from my local grassroots Bloomberg organizer (Sam), who makes a really solid case that he is the only unifying candidate. “We can’t afford 4 more years of Trump,” is the message; meaning, the vast majority of our Democratic candidates simply can’t afford to pay for the titanic upcoming fight against Mr Trump.
I’ll keep this brief, but Big-Math says even if Mr Bloomberg totally saturates the airwaves in Super Tuesday states it’s pretty unlikely he can win a majority of the delegates before the convention. Simply put, he only got in the race a few weeks ago — so it’s not a level playing field. And we need to let him know we’ve got his back. Especially since Biden somehow strong-armed his way into winning South Carolina. Freaky stuff happens. Accidents of history.
What I’m saying is that if we want Mr Bloomberg to spend the full amount necessary to save this country from Mr Trump we should at least be willing to pledge to him that:
If he has the greatest number of delegates at the end of the primaries then he should be our nominee without a convention fight, or interference from the non-democratic “Super-Delegates.”
That’s only fair. And the party establishment needs to know, loud and clear, that we in the grassroots Bloomberg movement will raise holy-hell if the winner of the plurality of delegates is denied the nomination!
Are you with me?
